The Qiao family courtyard is named after the houses of Qiao's family, such as Qiao Zhiyong, a famous businessman in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The courtyard was built in the 20th year of Emperor Qianlong's reign (1755), and consists of Zaizhong Hall, Dexing Hall, Baoyuan Hall, Ningshou Hall, and Qiao Garden. With a total area of more than 25,600 square meters, there are 18 large courtyards, 41 small courtyards, and 731 houses, respectively displaying the three major themes of "Qiao's architectural furnishings, Shanxi merchants' folk customs, and folk customs". The Qiao Family Courtyard is known by the carrier of Shanxi merchants' spirit and practice, the treasure house of northern folk customs, and the palace of Ming and Qing architectural art.
